The Sci-Flies

Kingston’s own The Sci-Flies bring instrumental surf rock out of the beach and straight into the weird. Equal parts vintage surf, garage rock, sci-fi and horror, the band serves up reverb-heavy guitar, infectious grooves and a healthy dose of the bizarre. Their signature fly-themed look is just the beginning – underneath the masks is a band that knows how to make instrumental rock loud, fun and unmistakably their own.

A Hudson Valley favorite, The Sci-Flies are the perfect soundtrack for anyone who likes their surf music with a little more grit, a little more weird and a whole lot less sunscreen.

Messer Chups

Messer Chups specialize in the darker side of surf. Their sound pulls together classic surf guitar, rockabilly, garage rock and vintage horror and sci-fi imagery to create something that feels like a lost B-movie soundtrack brought to life.

Founded by guitarist Oleg Fomchenkov, the band has built an international following with their unmistakable retro aesthetic and cinematic live shows, often pairing their music with projections from vintage horror and sci-fi films. It’s spooky, sexy, campy, catchy and unapologetically weird – basically everything a good night of surf rock should be.

Reverend Horton Heat

Few bands have done more to drag rockabilly into the modern era than Reverend Horton Heat. Led by guitarist and vocalist Jim Heath, the Dallas-based trio has been tearing up stages since the mid-1980s, combining the raw energy of 1950s rock ’n’ roll with surf, country, punk and psychobilly.

Known for blistering guitar, upright bass and relentlessly high-energy live shows, Reverend Horton Heat has spent decades building a reputation as one of the most influential and entertaining acts in the modern rockabilly and psychobilly scene. Their music is fast, loud and rooted in the spirit of old-school rock ’n’ roll – with absolutely no interest in staying politely inside the lines. Come for the rockabilly. Stay for the mayhem.
