The Purple kniF Holidays Dance Party – wear your dancing shoes!

Purple kniF plays Maximum Surf & Twang – all-instrumental surf/hot rod rock ‘n’ roll. Originally formed in NYC back in 1994, the founding premise of the band was to kick some life into instrumental surf music – imagine The Ventures with Keith Moon on drums!
Purple kniF is: Ted Lawrence on guitar (former member of The Supertones and The Human Tornados/owner of Stockade Guitars in Kingston, NY); John Teagle on guitar (former member of The Walking Clampetts, The Sodbusters, The Vice Royals/author of Fender Amps: The First Fifty Years);  Doug Wygal on drums (drumming credits include The Individuals, Paul Collins Beat, The Wygals, Beat Rodeo, Amy Rigby and Wreckless Eric to name a few/owner of Rocket Number Nine Records in Kingston, NY); Baker Rorick on bass (bass and guitar credits include The Sunburst Brothers, The Baxters, Comfy Chair, Cool It Reba, The Scarecrows and more/founder and host of The Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase).
Purple kniF plays lots of originals mixed with cover tunes ranging from obscure Australian instro/surf music to chart-topping British and American guitar-based hits. The band has always been all about playing live shows and having a whole lotta fun. They have no CD’s or merch – if you want to hear Purple kniF, you’ll just have to come to a show!
