The Beers

Mother’s Milk

As the name implies, Mother’s Milk is a dark and creamy milk stout. Hints of oatmeal, chocolate and of course, milk make this brew have a remarkably smooth and silky finish, a classic example of the style.

  • (2003) Awarded a gold medal at The Hudson Valley Microbrew Festival (our first festival ever attended!)
  • (2010) Declared one of the top ten stouts in North America by The New York Times

— All I can say is this is a very good stout. It’s well crafted and pleasing to drink. It’d go well with a steak, or something salty and savory. Well done Keegan Ales!     (A Tale of Two Brewers)

Hurricane Kitty

This brew is a coppery and heavily hopped India Pale Ale. Named after brewmaster Keegan’s grandmother whose driving earned her quite a reputation with local police racing her six children to and from a local Long Island beach ferry during the 1960’s, Hurricane Kitty is the undisputed family favorite. We try to make the hop bill read as aggressively as her driver’s record.

— Hurricane Kitty, true to its namesake, packs a punch to the palate and then some. It has a rough mouthfeel and finishes a little coarse. A seasoned IPA drinker like me might not notice its edge, but I have a feeling anyone else will. But I wouldn’t really hold it against the beer since it’s expected. (Chad’z Beer Reviews)

Old Capital

This beer is named for the Kingston area’s rich historical heritage, is reflective of traditional tastes. Simply put, it’s a golden, crisp and refreshing beer. Whether it’s out on a Saturday night with the gang, or home with dinner midweek, Old Capital’s exceptional smoothness makes a great choice for every occasion.

  • (2003) Awarded People’s Choice: Best of Show at The Hudson Valley Microbrew Festival (our first festival ever attended!)

— 99 percent of what they make is their three well-loved brands, which neatly trisect the spectrum into yellow, red, and black. Old Capital, their golden ale, is a good choice for those who fear opacity in their beverages but who want a far more yeasty complexity than mass-market brands. (Chronogram)

Joe Mama’s Milk

Big Brother to our Mother’s Milk.  It starts with our Mother’s Milk recipe, we then add copious amounts of brown sugar to add body and increase the alcohol content.  Then, after primary fermentation, we infuse a cold coffee extract from our friends down the street, Monkey Joe’s Roasting Co.

Super Kitty

Super Kitty is our single most requested seasonal brew that we make.  It is essentially our traditional I.P.A. Hurricane Kitty, just on steroids.  It is brewed with local honey cultivated on our premises as well local hops and  finished off with aging it in a plethora of oak chips.  When the finished product rolls out it is 12% alcohol by volume and it’s not always available, so make you stock up on it while you can.

Bine Climber

Bine Climber Session IPA is a light bodied session-able india pale ale packed with plenty of citrus and floral aromas. Coming in at just under 5% ABV, this beer has a light, refreshing mouthfeel, loads of hop character, and the perfect brew for a summer day.

At a sessionable 4.7% ABV, the malt profile is that of a traditional pilsner style lager, characterized by its light and refreshing mouth-feel. Brewed exclusively with Helga hops, (also known as southern Hallertau) this beer hits you with a grassy yet delicate floral aroma. The late dry hop addition adds to the experience, making this beer a unique example of the style.

Bourbon Aged Mother’s Milk

Coming soon in 750 ml bottles. We partnered up with Widow Jane distillery to create this delicate and chocolatey brew.
