Lovechild

May 12, 2018

We are excited to welcome Lovechild to the Keegan Ales for the first time on Saturday May 12th!

Lovechild is five young musicians weaving together inspired and creative roots rock singing and songwriting, vibrant and intricate country-tinged guitar licks, and a hard-nosed but fun loving band with a penchant for wild, psychedelic jam sessions to create what’s been described as “the kind of musical poetry we’ve been missing.”

Led by singer-songwriter and Manhattan native Leo Liebeskind, Lovechild has spent the past 4 years tirelessly gigging around the New York area, while working on demo recordings in bedrooms, basements, and warehouse spaces around the city. After going through a number of personnel changes, the consistent lineup of Woodstock-raised twin brothers Aaron and Wyatt Mones (lead and bass guitar) and Wisconsin-hailing Karl Markgraf VIII and Daryl Cozzi (keys and drums) bring a diverse range of sounds and influences to Liebeskind’s poetic folk rock songs. Acoustic picking and lonesome slide guitar cries are often found morphing into overdriven, psychedelic jams. Slow, soulful ballads are mixed and mashed with up-tempo rockers. And stark, rootsy 70s grooves are often juxtaposed with wild sonic explosions into and beyond the 21st century.

Lovechild has logged countless hours performing at concert halls, dive bars, and DIY basement venues around New York over the past few years, and is prepping it’s debut album for a fall 2018 release.
